Tornado TV TAB display unit: frame module
|
The frame of the TV TAB DU is a sturdy aluminium housing. The sides are enforced and cooled by cooling ribs to radiate heat to the environment due to convection cooling. The frame is known as part umber V22.498.71. On the images below is the partially emptied frame visible.

A nice detail is the bass bushing at the back of the housing. The housing is secured by two rather large bolts at the bottom of the housing. The rear is positioned by a guiding pin that supports/guids the rear of the device. To prevent wear, a brass bush is placed in the rear of the aluminium housing. Brass has 'self lubricating' properties. Aluminium is rather soft and wear due to vibration is likely. Steel on steel contacts can 'weld' together and brass/(stainless?!) steel contact is therefore a good choice. Placing a brass bush is more expensive than just drilling/milling a hole in the aluminium housing, but the brass solution is a very good quality choice.
